|Tier 1 (Olympic Trust)
Athletes who placed top ten in a Olympic/Paralympic discipline at senior world championships OR Athletes who have competed at Olympic/Paralympic Games in an Olympic/Paralympic year
|Tier 2 (Sport Canada Carding)
||Sport Canada Carded athletes (SR, C1, D) who currently do not meet Tier 1 Qualifications
|Tier 3 (Elite Athlete Assistance)
||Non-carded athletes who have been selected and compete at Senior or Junior World Championships in sports that are eligible for Sport Canada carding.
Non- carded athletes selected to compete at Pan/Para Pan -American Games or Commonwealth Games.
||Non-carded athletes who have been selected to a national team program and competed internationally as part of a recognized National Sport Organization high performance program in disciplines eligible for Sport Canada carding.
Athletes training to become re-carded who are training in a recognized national team program (up to 1-year)
| Tier 4 (Sport Fund)
||Athletes in disciplines eligible for Sport Canada carding, who have been selected by their National Sport Organization to a recognized national team program, but do not meet Tier 3 criteria.
||Athletes, in sports not eligible for Sport Canada Carding, selected to compete at a Senior World Championship for a recognized Sr. national team, based on at least a Top 3 individual results/placing at a national championship or National Team Selection Camp.
|Tier 5 (Prospects)
Athletes in disciplines eligible for Sport Canada carding with Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) and National Sport organization (NSO) endorsement who have demonstrated an ability to excel at the national level. The NSAAP Selection committee will make final determination of prospect status.
Canoe Kayak athletes selected to compete at one of the following events: Senior Pan Am Championships, Junior Pan Am Championships, CanAMex
Athletes in disciplines eligible for Sport Canada carding selected to attend a National team selection/training camps.
| Tier 6 (PSO Carding)
||Each Provincial Sport Organization will be given $750 to determine the carding and select a recipient(s) from their respective sport. The PSO Card can be divided up to three ways.
