Sport Fund

Looking to start a new program? In need of equipment? You’ve come to the right spot!

There is no doubt that when we work together we can achieve more and have a greater impact. Through the collaboration between a number of organizations, the Sport Fund looks to achieve one goal: to increase sustainable quality sport programs in Nova Scotia.

Following a regional funding model where the initiatives funded in a region are determined by a committee located within that region, the Sport Fund supports the growth of sport at the community level.

Administered by Sport Nova Scotia, the Sport Fund has brought together funding from a number of partners. We thank them for their support!

Interested in applying?

The Sport Fund accepts applications twice per year. Application deadlines are April 15th and October 15th.

Step One: Contact your Regional Sport Consultant to discuss your project and arrange for a consultation. A consultation is your best bet to creating a sustainable program and accessing funding. The value of a consultation includes:

  • Regional Sport Consultants are experts in community sport development.
  • The consultant is embedded in your community and has access to major stakeholders.
  • The Regional Sport Consultant has extensive knowledge of the Sport Fund process.
  • Increased engagement with your Provincial Sport Organization.
  • The Regional Sport Consultant can provide support outside of funding through program design, access to additional resources, alignment with the regional priorities and support on LTAD and the principles of Sport for Life.

Step Two: Contact your Provincial Sport Organization (PSO). The PSO is here to support their member clubs and non-member organizations looking to align projects with their sport. The PSO is the expert and authority when it comes to your sport in Nova Scotia. Applicants should ensure they are in alignment with the PSO and when possible accessing the technical support the PSO can provide.
