Sport Fund Recipient Spotlight: Abercrombie Country Club

Abercrombie Country Club’s picturesque course provides all one needs to boost their golf game, including opportunity for a group underrepresented in golf. In 2019 they launched the New Ladies Centennial Social League to break barriers and expand the female golf game in Nova Scotia. Cost is a participation obstacle, and with the help of Sport Fund the New Ladies Centennial Social League allows women to develop skills on the course at a reduced rate with golf clubs provided. Sport Fund Recipient Spotlight: Annapolis Valley Speed Skating

Speed Skate Nova Scotia hosted “try-it” clinics across the province shortly after the 2011 Canada Games. The following spring, a small group met to discuss the possibility of starting a speed skating club of their own and with the help of Sport Fund, the Annapolis Valley Speed Skating Club opened for their first season in October of 2012.
