February's Cleve’s Source for Sports Athlete of the Month winners

Brooklyn Rutherford, Liam Moffat, Tarah Sawler, Oliver Pye and the Nova Scotia U19AA Ringette Team win honours

HALIFAX, NS (March 23, 2017) – February’s Cleve’s Source for Sports Female Individual Athlete of the Month honours have been awarded to Brooklyn Rutherford of Brookfield. Competing in the kumite Individual Female U21 +68kg and the kumite Individual Female Senior +68kg divisions, the 18 year-old won two bronze medals at the Canadian National Karate Championships in Quebec. Sailors Lewin-LaFrance and Gillis named

December’s Sport Chek Team of the Month

HALIFAX, NS (January 16, 2017) – Georgia Lewin-LaFrance and Madeline Gillis of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron have been named December’s Sport Chek Team of Month. The sailors had a strong showing at the World Youth Sailing Championships in Auckland, New Zealand where they placed 12th overall in the I420 class; a Canadian best in this class at the Youth Worlds. Lewin-LaFrance and Gillis were named to the Canadian team after winning the National Championships in August.  READ MORE


November's Sport Chek Athletes of the Month

Jackson Carroll and Team Thompson win Sport Chek Athlete of the Month Honours

HALIFAX, NS (December 20, 2016) – Jackson Carroll of Halifax has been named November’s Sport Chek Individual Male Athlete of the Month. The 19-year-old secured his third straight international podium finish since September after winning bronze in the Senior Male <63 kg category at the XXIIth International Taekwondo Tournament of Paris Ile de France (French Open). Carroll trains at HP Atlantic Taekwondo Centre and is coached by Kathy Pyke. MORE
