Sport Fund Success Story

Lunenburg Rowing Club

Five years ago, The Lunenburg Yacht Club introduced rowing as a means to grow their participation. Today, the club has nearly 40 members and a new program was recently launched offering sailing and rowing under the same membership.

“The application process is straight-forward and the funds we have received have been essential to building our program” said Lunenburg Rowing Club founder, Karen Kinley. Kinley says there’s a direct coloration between the funding and their growing participation. “Our membership has grown mostly because of the increased and improved equipment we can offer to our rowers.” Sport Fund provided the organization with the financial support required to purchase and maintain equipment and build outdoor boat storage.

Sport Fund supports the growth of sport at the community level by relieving the financial stress associated with start-up costs and equipment. To learn more about how Sport Fund can help your organization, click here
