HALIFAX, NS (Thursday, July 28, 2011) – The award for Sport Chek Female Individual Athlete of the Month goes to  23-year-old Jenna Martin from Bridgewater. Jenna started the month of June with a seventh place finish at the NCAA finals. Later, she placed first in the 400m event at the Canadian Track and Field Championships held in Calgary, Alberta. Jenna will now have the opportunity to compete at the World Championships.

Chris Theriau of Kentville brings home the title of Sport Chek Male Individual Athlete of the Month for earning a silver medal at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in the 110m hurdles event. Since then, 23-year-old Chris has broken the Nova Scotia provincial 110m hurdles record twice.

The award for Sport Chek Male Team Athlete of the Month goes to Andrew Saunders. The 20-year-old diver earned a gold medal in Men’s Open 3m Synchronized Diving at the 2011 Summer Senior Nationals held in Edmonton, Alberta.
