Women in Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation (WISPAR) is a provincial partnership focused on advancing gender equity in sport, physical activity and recreation across Nova Scotia. Through collaboration among sector partners, WISPAR aims to create stronger opportunities for women and girls, recognize gender equity champions and support community-driven action that removes barriers to participation and leadership.

The Changemakers Pitch:

Nova Scotia Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Series Community ideas that help women and girls move, connect and thrive.

Across Nova Scotia, communities are creating opportunities for women and girls to be active, build confidence, make connections and feel a stronger sense of belonging through sport, physical activity and recreation. The Changemakers Pitch is a new opportunity to celebrate those ideas and help bring more of them to life.

Whether you’re part of a grassroots group, a local organization or simply someone who sees an opportunity to create positive change in your community, we want to hear from you.

Application & Event Information:

Central Submission

Here's how it works:

  1. Submit your idea through the regional application link (see below).
  2. Applications will be reviewed by region.
  3. Six projects per region will be selected and invited to pitch their idea at a Changemakers Pitch & Networking Night (details below).
  4. These groups will each have 10 minutes to present their idea to a panel in a format that works for them—slides, video, photos or other visual media.
  5. Each region will have $3,000 available to help bring these great ideas to life, with selected projects eligible to receive up to $1,000 each. Selections will be made by the panel after the pitches are presented.

Not pitching?

Join us as part of the audience at the Changemakers Pitch & Networking Night in your region to cheer on participants, network with fellow changemakers and enjoy some refreshments.
