August 31, 2026 (Halifax, NS) – Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce that August’s Cleve’s Source for Sports Impact Award recipients are Zhiqing (Audrey) Wang (female athlete) and Marina Reny (volunteer).

Female Athlete: Zhiqing (Audrey) Wang, Badminton

Achievements: Audrey was a member of the U17 Junior National Team that represented Canada at the 2027 Junior Pan Am Championships in Joao Pessoa, Brazil from July 22-26. She competed in mixed doubles, women’s doubles and women’s singles. Her tournament was highlighted by winning a silver medal in women’s doubles – beating the top seeded USA team in semifinals before losing in the finals to the second seeded team from Canada. In women’s singles Audrey made it to the quarterfinals, losing a close three set match to the top seeded USA player.

Volunteer: Marina Reny, Surfing

Achievements: Marina is the Surfing Association of Nova Scotia (SANS) treasurer and since taking on the role she has helped establish and maintain financial records, introduced new efficiencies and helped improve insurance coverage and policies. She has also been a key contributor during one of the organization’s busiest periods, providing critical support with athlete and program registration as well as contest administration. Marina’s dedication, competence and commitment to SANS have strengthened both the organization’s operations and the community it serves.
