Cleve’s Source for Sports Impact Awards July

July 31, 2025 (Halifax, NS) – Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce the Cleve’s Source for Sports July Impact Award recipients are Delani Pelley (Female Athlete), Lyle Reid (Coach) and Paul Johnson (Volunteer).

Female Athlete: Delani Pelley, Softball

Achievements: A player with the Stellarton Stingers U15 AA, Delani is a quiet leader amongst her team. She comes to every practice and every game with a positive attitude and dominates the outfield and the plate. Earlier this summer she hit two back-to-back home runs to take the lead against the Moncton Rebels. She always cheers on her teammates and helps build others up. Her modest demeanor is what helps make her a top tier athlete and teammate.

Coach: Lyle Reid, Softball

Achievements: Coach Lyle is the driving force behind the Diamond Jaxx U15A girls softball team in rural Antigonish County. His unwavering dedication, positivity and passion for youth sport have left a meaningful impact on his athletes, their families and the broader community.

In the month of July, Coach Lyle went above and beyond his coaching role. He devoted countless hours to preparing the team for a series of competitive games across Nova Scotia, ensuring each athlete felt confident and supported.

He champions girls in sport, modeling respectful leadership and empowering each athlete to see themselves as capable, valued and essential. His impact was especially evident during a recently challenging game where he kept morale high with steady encouragement, thoughtful strategy and a message of perseverance.

Volunteer: Paul Johnson, Softball

Achievements: Paul Johnson is a board member, coach and someone who has put a lot into the Dartmouth She Devils club. Currently Paul has been running point on the new Dartmouth She Devils batting cage project. He has been a jack of all trades from applying for grants to fund the project to working with all the different vendors for the club to have this new infrastructure installed. The club recently opened its new batting cage along with a storage facility at the Penhorn Ballfield in Dartmouth. Paul has had a big hand in creating a lasting piece of equipment for the young softball players of the club and for the community.
