December, 2023 (Halifax, NS)- Cleve’s Source for Sports December Athlete of the Month Recipients Announced
Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce the 2023 Cleve’s Source for Sports December Athlete of the Month recipients; Camden Weatherbee (Jr. Male), and Mason Smith (Sr. Male).
Camden Weatherbee 18-year-old Softball Athlete from Brookfield, NS
Recent Achievements: Camden recently won bronze as part of Team Canada in the World Baseball Softball Congress Pan-Am Qualifier in Sincelejo, Colombia, and at the U18 Men’s World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico. Camden’s performance at both tournaments, batting .286 and eight runs batted in, helped secure Canada’s spot at the 2023 World Cup and move up the rankings to third place in Men’s Fastpitch.
Mason Smith 24-year-old Goalball Athlete from Middleton, NS
Recent Achievements: Last month, Mason won bronze as part of the Canadian Men’s Goalball Team at the Parapan American Games in Santiago, Chile. His offensive and defensive play contributed hugely to the team’s success, with Mason tied as the third-highest male scorer in the competition with 14 goals. Mason has repeatedly represented Nova Scotia, winning medals at local, regional, national, and international tournaments.

• The Athlete of the Month program is administered by Sport Nova Scotia, whose members are eligible to nominate athletes for the awards.
• A membership committee selects the award recipients for five possible categories: Male Individual Athlete, Female Individual Athlete, Male Team Athlete, Female Team Athlete, and Team.
