June 30, 2026 (Halifax, NS) – Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce that June’s Cleve’s Source for Sports Impact Award recipients are Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance (female athlete), Nick White (male athlete), Brayden Orman (coach) and Bonnie Anderson (volunteer).
Female Athlete: Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance, Sailing
Achievements: In May, Antonia and Georgia came in fourth place at the 49erFX World Championships held in Quiberon, France, beating out 48 other boats.
Male Athlete: Nick White, Softball
Achievements: Nick White was named Team Canada captain for the 2026 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup in Sincelejo, Colombia. He led Canada in hits and runs scored while batting .391 and hitting two home runs in eight games. Then, his club team, the Hill United Chiefs, took home gold at the May Days Tournament in Kelowna, BC with Nick batting .833 with a home run, five runs scored and five runs batted in.
Coach: Brayden Orman, Gymnastics
Achievements: The 2026 Eastern Canadian Championships for Gymnastics was held May 15-17, 2026, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, with Brayden Orman leading his team of athletes to achieve incredible success during his first time coaching at the event. Brayden had two athletes become Eastern Canadian event champions and had four other athletes each earn personal bests. Between his six athletes Brayden finished with 11 total medals (2 team + 9 individual.)
Volunteer: Bonnie Anderson, Rowing
Achievements: Bonnie Anderson has served as the volunteer Safety Officer for Halifax Rowing Club for several years. Every May Bonnie does stellar work to ensure the safety of the club’s rowers. She checks all of the club’s personal flotation devices and whistles and secures the purchase of new ones, and she reminds everyone to wear the personal floatation devices and use the signing-out and signing-in policies. Most importantly, she has kept the club on track with its Cold Water Policy, taking and posting the temperature of the Northwest Arm every day with diplomacy and good humour.
