March 25, 2024 (Halifax, NS) – Cleve’s Source for Sports March Athlete of the Month Recipients Announced
Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce the 2024 Cleve’s Source for Sports March Athlete of the Month recipients; Hayley Barry (Jr. Female) and Truro Centurions Swim Club (Team of the Month).

Hayley Barry: 12-year-old Long Track Speed Skating athlete from Stillwater Lake, Nova Scotia
Recent Achievements: Hayley competed at the Canadian Youth Long Track Speed Skating Championships in Quebec City last month, where she finished first overall in the country for her age category. She medaled in all distances, placing 2nd in the 500m and 300m, 1st in the 1000m, and 3rd in the 1500m and 7-lap Mass start. Skaters were required to meet the Speed Skate NS qualification times at the Atlantic Canadian Long Track Championships secure a spot at the Canadian Youth Long Track Speed Skating National Championship. Hayley placed first overall for her age category at the competition, adding this accomplishment to her many others, including being the top female 12-year-old short-track speed skater.
Truro Centurions Swim Club AA Swimmers
Recent Achievements: Last month, the Truro Centurions Swim Club (TCSC) won the Team Spirit award at the AA Winter Champs Provincials in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. TCSC was awarded for bringing positive energy and a great dynamic to the pool deck, contributing to a terrific environment for all the competitors at the meet. The award is given out by the meet officials based on the team’s impact during the three days of competing.
