November 23, 2023 (Halifax, NS)- Cleve’s Source for Sports November Athlete of the Month Recipients Announced
Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce the November 2023 Cleve’s Source for Sports Athlete of the Month recipients; Kaidyn Goodwin (Jr. Female), and John Courtney (Sr. Male).
Kaidyn Goodwin: 17-year-old Equestrian athlete from Tusket, Nova Scotia.
Recent Achievements: Kaidyn competed at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio, last month. She competed in the Youth Hunter Under Saddle and 3-Year-Old Non-Pro Hunter Under Saddle where she placed in the top ten in four of her five classes. Athletes must have competed at previous breed competitions in the competition year in order to take part in the prestigious event.
John Courtney: 46-year-old Goalball athlete from Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Recent Achievements: John and his team recently won bronze at the 7th Annual N.S. Open Goalball Tournament in Halifax last month. John’s positive energy and strong defense was a key contributor to his team winning bronze. Players from this tournament will have a chance to compete on the Nova Scotia Men’s goalball team at the 2024 Canadian National Goalball Championships taking place in Halifax, May 2024.
Athlete of the Month
• The Athlete of the Month program is administered by Sport Nova Scotia, whose members are eligible to nominate athletes for the awards.
• A membership committee selects the award recipients for five possible categories: Male Individual Athlete, Female Individual Athlete, Male Team Athlete, Female Team Athlete, and Team.
