October 27, 2023 (Halifax, NS)- Cleve’s Source for Sports October Athlete of the Month Recipients Announced
Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce the October 2023 Cleve’s Source for Sports Athlete of the Month recipients: Emily Hynes (Jr. Female).
Emily Hynes: 16-year-old Equestrian athlete from Greenwood, Nova Scotia
Recent Achievements: Last month, Emily placed fifth overall at the Eastern Canada Affiliate Finals in Becancour, Quebec. She placed in the top five in all her events at the AQR Futurity and Affiliate Championships, which included several 2nd place results. Over 100 riders aged nine to fourteen from Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia competed at the event. With Emily’s results, she qualified for the North American Affiliate Finals, which will be held this November in Oklahoma City.

• The Athlete of the Month program is administered by Sport Nova Scotia, whose members are eligible to nominate athletes for the awards.
• A membership committee selects the award recipients for five possible categories: Male Individual Athlete, Female Individual Athlete, Male Team Athlete, Female Team Athlete, and Team.
