April 13, 2022- Halifax, NS – Cleve’s Source for Sports Athlete of the Month Recipients Announced
Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce the April 2022 Cleve’s Source for Sports Athlete of the Month recipients; Denelle Pedrick (senior female), Julia Snelgrove (junior female), and Malcolm Farris (junior male).
Denelle Pedrick: 23-year-old gymnast from Halifax.
Recent achievements: Denelle was named to the Canadian Senior National Team in January and in March competed at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge Cup in Germany. Up against 40 competitors, Danelle captured gold on Vault at her first competition as a member of the Canadian Senior National Team and placed 6th on Beam.
Julia Snelgrove: 14-year-old speed skater from Dartmouth.
Recent achievements: On March 27-26, Julia competed in the Canadian Youth Short Track Championships (East) in Sherbrooke, QC. Julia finished 3rd overall in the 14-female division, accumulating three bronze medals for the 200m, 400m and 1500m races and a silver medal for the 3000m points race. Julia is the first Nova Scotia skater to reach the podium, in an individual event or overall, in this format.
Malcolm Farris: 15-year-old freestyle skier from Chester.
Recent achievements: Last month, Malcolm competed in the Canadian Junior Championships in Calgary, AB. He captured gold in the big air competition in the U16 category with a score of 96.2 and the highest winning overall score for the competition.

- The Athlete of the Month program is administered by Sport Nova Scotia, whose members are eligible to nominate athletes for the awards.
- A membership committee selects the award recipients for five possible categories: Male Individual Athlete, Female Individual Athlete, Male Team Athlete, Female Team Athlete, and Team.
