August 16, 2022- Halifax, NS – Cleve’s Source for Sports Athlete of the Month Recipients Announced
Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce the August 2022 Cleve’s Source for Sports Athlete of the Month recipients; Isaac Davis (Jr. male), and Callum Bouma (Sr. male).
Isaac Davis. 13- year-old karate athlete from Dartmouth
Recent achievements: In July, Isaac attended his first Karate Canada Nationals in St. John’s, NL. He captured a silver medal in the youth male -55kg (Sparring) division. This win qualifies Isaac to compete in the Junior Pan American Championships in Mexico City from August 25-27, 2022.
Callum Bouma. 22-year-old softball player from Lower Truro.
Recent achievements: In June, Callum was the Maritime Fastpitch League leading hitter for seven games, drawing seven walks, scoring 10 runs and driving in six. His month was highlighted by an RBI triple that tied the game in the ninth- inning against Quebec. He later scored the winning run. In the final of the tournament hosted by the Canada Games team, Isaac hit 2 HRs to lead Team NS into an 8-4 victory over East Hants.
Quick Facts: Athlete of the Month
- The Athlete of the Month program is administered by Sport Nova Scotia, whose members are eligible to nominate athletes for the awards.
- A membership committee selects the award recipients for five possible categories: Male Individual Athlete, Female Individual Athlete, Male Team Athlete, Female Team Athlete, and Team.
